Intersections

Intersections, they are wretched things
They watch you falter, patiently
And invite you like a whore
It’s another day at work for them

You can run and hide all you like
They see you, the movement within you
They catch the unfelt rages, the unsent messages
The unsmiled smiles, tears, unthought thoughts
They know; they are watching all the time
They dwell right inside of you
In a cove you can never locate
Even in your dreams

They devour you, hungry cats
And you become a part of a huge churning
They curse you an evil curse
Keep you in their dreary dungeons
Give you space enough to sprawl

They feed you like a mother
Teach you how to walk
You squirm, stretch, flail
Crawl, climb and try to run

And when you’ve got nowhere to go
Nothing’s left undone, unsqueezed
They let you free

Intersections, wretched things

Like a twig in a river,
flowing with the river's accord..
going where the river takes it-
Our life would be too full,
of the mundane inactivity-
of the daily routine...
But for the intersections..
for they make you think..
for they make you decide..
for they for once-
make you come alive...
isn't it??

Interesting analogy.. Twig in a river. Then again aren't we twigs in this vast ocean of life. enormous currents taking us places we wouldn't imagine we would visit. Do we choose what current to take or do these currents choose us. Maybe its both. Aren't we twigs then in our choiselessness

We are twigs with the power of choice. Puppets with scissors to cut off the threads seeking to take away our power. Hence the intersections. To compel us to choose. Intersections kill us, then command us to come to life again. they throw us into storms, destroy our ships and challenge us to survive.

What we do at intersections form the essece of the persons we are.

yes.. we indeed are twigs with the power of choice - provided we have the will to choose... Yes we indeed are puppets with scissors to cut the threads- provided we have courage enough to use the scissor and cut the threads.. In these moments that we cease the scissor and cut the threads.. in these moments when we choose.. we realise what we are.. we live!!

Hence what we decide to do and do at the intersection doesn't form the essence of the person that we are.. but help us realize the essence of our existence!! wassay?
